The 25-year-old Karelia UAS and the SECURE-project took part in the 20-year-old Energy Saving Week 9-15.10.2017. The theme of the jubilee this year was Together a More Energetic Future. The SECURE -team challenged all Karelians to think about their energy consumption and habits. As part of the energy saving week, we organised an energy related quiz, where one had a chance to win different kinds of prizes, such as a solar powered charger and energy related books. The respondents were also asked to give tips on how to save energy at Karelia. Suggestions made by the respondents on saving energy at Karelia UAS include, among others:

  • switching lights off in empty rooms
  • students to switch off computers and monitors when leaving the room
  • an introductory lecture on energy saving for 1st year students each year
  • guidelines on energy saving for staff induction documents

If you missed the energy saving tips, you can find them from the SECURE –website.

SYKETTÄ also participated in the energy saving week. The energy saving dance was guided by the SYKETTÄ instructor that was danced multiple times as well as by the Karelia staff! Thank you all for your active participation and contribution on the energy saving week! The energy quiz prizes has been delivered to the winners – congratulations to all of the winners!
